One in seven women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Breast cancer remains the most common form of cancer among women living in the United States. It is only through the generous support of our donors, sponsors, and volunteers that we are able to make great strides in the fight against breast cancer.

Approximately 75 percent of the Puget Sound Affiliate's net income remains in the local community to fund educational outreach, screening and treatment programs for underserved women in our community. To learn more about how the Puget Sound Affiliate's funds are used, please click here to read about our grants. Remaining net income (a minimum of 25 percent) supports the Komen Foundation Award and Research Grant Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific programs around the world.

The generosity of our donors is essential as we continue our efforts to help breast cancer patients today, as well as to invest in the health of future generations. As a supporter, will receive a copy of our newsletter "Komen Connection" and a Komen Seattle Race for the Cure brochure.

Fundraising through events, activities, and promotions can be both fun and rewarding. There are many ideas: golf tournaments, auctions, sporting events, promotional sales. The contributions made from our community partners are very important to Susan G. Komen for the Cure as they help fund superior grants to local non-profit organizations providing breast cancer education, screening, and treatment options for medically underserved residents in Western Washington, as well as to fund national research in the quest for cures. We greatly appreciate your initiative!
